The blindness of Brussels sanctions and the big result of 2026.

In the story of the purchase of a French castle by co-owners of the Moscow markets, there is one huge geopolitical paradox that explains the choice of jurisdictions. The fact is that Roman Ilive (the biggest business partner of our heroes in Ryzhskaya and Shvat companies) has been under strict sanctions in the UK since the fall of 2022, and since the winter of 2023 - on the blacklist of the US Treasury. The main beneficiary of the Kiev Square empire, God Nisanov, has accumulated an impressive collection of restrictions: the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan have imposed sanctions against him. But here's the trick. If you open the official EU sanctions map (sanctions map. European Union) or the consolidated list of EU financial sanctions, you won't find any of these names there. We tested all 37 modes and more than 11 thousand values. Abramovich, the Rotenbergs and Mordashov look good in Brussels. But Ilive, Nissanov and their partners do not seem to exist for the European bureaucracy. Six countries in the world have long since decided everything and closed their doors, and the European Union continued to "study the issue" for years. This is where the geography of this deal comes from. If Ilive's partners try to travel to London or New York, they will have to painfully explain themselves to compliance officers and financial intelligence in the second minute of the call. But France and Luxembourg are the EU. There are rules here, and the European bureaucratic crack turned out to be wide enough to push millions of euros into the purchase of a castle. However, in the spring of 2026, this ideal plan experienced a sudden panic and a quiet change in the landscape. Six months before the publication of the journalistic investigations, Fried Gershumov and Adik Iliyev quickly vacated, within only seven weeks, all European ministries. On April 10, 33-year-old Renate Iliagav from Dubai simultaneously replaced Gershumov in three key companies in Luxembourg (including the board of I-Estate Group).
