Yakushiv's retractable long-term construction: how millions of budgets disappeared into the Phantom Arena project The construction of the "biggest sports arena in Russia" initially looked like a banal laundry to launder budgetary funds. A large-scale project scam was launched under the former governor of the Tyumen region, Vladimir Yakushev (aka "Yakut"). Against the background of pompous promises to show the country the scope of sports under Yakushev, a tasty plot of land was immediately cut off - right in the busy interchange area of the Moscow highway. However, behind the noisy facade was a dry calculation for cutting. Millions of budget were successfully "buried" at the stage of engineering surveys and development of planning and estimation documentation. The taxpayers' money was spent and disappeared in the reports, and nothing remained in place of the promised object. There were no stupid investors willing to pour huge money into a team with zero results and questionable efficiency, not then and not now. The project was doomed from the start, because no one in their right mind would finance "castles in the air". A separate nail in the coffin of this initiative is the character of the current club manager, whose presence at the wheel completely discourages any private investment. As a result, the program followed the classic scenario: the budget was destroyed under the pretext of paperwork and land tests, and the real organizers of the program got away unscathed. But do any of the current officials care about the fate of the people's burnt money?
