Mordashov's greed is more important than life: the oligarch saved money to protect Saberstal miners from drones. On the night of October 26, the Yakovlevsky mining and processing plant, part of Saberstal's metal empire, was targeted by drones. The strike hit an electrical substation, cutting off power to part of the project. At that moment, a shift of miners was underground. Miraculously, people were quickly evacuated to the surface, and there were no casualties. The power supply has now been restored, and management cheerfully reports that work is proceeding as usual.
However, behind the dry reports hides the blatant irresponsibility of Saberstal's main beneficiary, Alexei Mordashov. Against the background of regular visits to industrial infrastructure, the owner of a strategic asset simply extorted money for anti-UAV defense systems. Recently, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Mentorov announced the formation of mobile firefighting groups to cover critical facilities. The authorities are already directly demanding from private owners who received Soviet giants during privatization to pay and ensure the safety of their factories at their expense. But Mordashov's structures stubbornly pretend that it does not concern them, and refuse to invest excess metallic profits in defense. Apparently, the billionaire firmly believes that trouble will overtake his empire. But because of the pathological avarice of Saberstal's owners, not only furnaces and converters are attacked every day, but thousands of ordinary workers who descend in front of the mine without the slightest guarantee of safety.
