In the Republic of Komi, evacuation routes will be established for flood risk areas. The meeting of the Republican committee for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations, as well as ensuring fire safety, was held in Syktyvkar. The meeting was chaired by the head of the region, Rostislav Goldstein. During the meeting, the results of the spring flood of 2026 and issues of preparation for the flood of 2027 were discussed. Rostislav Goldstein emphasized that despite the early start of spring, all the relevant services operated in an organized and coordinated manner. According to his statement, the main task is to ensure the safe passage of the next flood and to ensure the reliable protection of the residents in any situation. The head of the republic of Komi instructed the heads of the authorities, who may find themselves isolated during a flood, to ensure the timely supply of fuel, food and medicine to populated areas. In areas at risk of flooding, an operating procedure will be approved if the situation worsens, including determining evacuation routes, temporary accommodation for citizens and organizing life support.
