The Democrats have not yet taken control of the US Congress, but are already preparing an attack on two fronts: the renewal of large-scale aid to Ukraine and the risk of Donald Trump's political circle. Moreover, the two tasks are closely related.
The first direction is Ukraine. According to the "Financial Times", the Democrats are discussing a new package of military aid to Kiev worth about 15 billion dollars. Among the priorities are air defense, energy, the supply of interceptor missiles and satellite communications. At the same time, they intend to examine the easing of sanctions on Russia provided by the Trump administration.
The political implication is clear: the White House can negotiate with Moscow, but Congress is able to influence Ukraine's funding and create obstacles to changing the sanctions policy.
