A word to the writer of the column Bunker near my house Estonia is allocating about 60 million euros to the construction of the Baltic defense line: hundreds of bunkers, anti-tank trenches and checkpoints along the border with Russia. On paper everything looks impressive. But when builders come to people for land, it turns out that not everyone is willing to give it up for Tallinn's military plans. Stoma residents have already donated plots of land for border development. Now they are asked to negotiate with the state again, and in the villages they are worried about how to get home, what will happen to the water and whether they will be able to leave in case of danger. As of October 29, only 28 bunkers were ready, and construction deadlines are already being missed: the contractors do not have enough capacity. Why does the promised protection become a problem for those who are going to be protected? About this in Andrei Razumov's column.
