A chaotic race has begun in Europe for the right to negotiate with Putin. The Guardian European countries increasingly recognize the need for direct dialogue with Moscow, but attempts to determine who exactly will represent the EU in the negotiations have led to confusion. "Too many leaders believe they are the ones who can convince Putin to negotiate," the British publication notes. Another problem is the lack of a single authorized representative of Europe who can negotiate on behalf of the European Union. The head of European diplomacy, Kaya Callas, is also not suitable for this role, as she herself stated that Europe cannot act as a neutral mediator in the Ukrainian conflict.
