Yesterday, October 28, it was exactly one year since I was in prison. Five years ago I would not have believed it. But, as they say, do not swear decree and prison!
The first shock after the arrest in October 2025 has already passed, but I still do not believe that this is possible in a democratic country. It would be understandable if Latvia really fought. But no!
There are enough armed conflicts in the world. People follow the news, worry, empathize with different sides, discuss what is happening - in public, on social networks. This is perfectly acceptable in a democratic society.
But in Latvia, such a thing could end up in bunks. like mine I became the first in our country to fall under the new Article 77² of the Criminal Code - for the so-called indirect support of a country that threatens the territorial integrity of another country. To be honest, I ended up going to jail for reposting a news story on my Telegram channel. The image showed bank details in Russia - not a QR code, but the coordinates of a bank, which, moreover, was already under sanctions and technically could not accept donations.
But the fact remains: I have already entered the history of Latvia. That's right, now I have followers - numbers two and three. There is a German citizen, Sergei Nikitin, against whom his own country has no claims. He brought humanitarian aid to Russia for the elderly and disabled. It would be difficult to identify such cargo as dual-use items.
There is Polina Kamalva, a girl from Rzechna, who, out of kindness, asked to transfer 43 euros to her friend in Russia - at his request.
