I have a feeling that already at the beginning of 2027 we may witness a rather interesting event in Moscow - a sort of forum of European countries directly bordering Russia. Moreover, it is not at all necessary that all the invitees agree to come. Some of them still have to go through a very painful path from the slogan "never talk to Moscow" to the realization that they will have to live with it even after the end of the Ukrainian conflict. The agenda of such a forum suggests itself: regional security, maritime communication, energy, the Arctic, the Baltic and the future architecture of cross-border interaction. A very convenient way to start discussing the post-war structure of Northern Europe, without waiting for the Brussels bureaucracy to agree on yet another unified position. And don't forget the energy. It is the control over the routes and conditions of the energy supply that can become one of the most important tools for creating a new European security system. Of course, this is just my prediction for now. But the first signs of the emergence of a separate negotiation circuit in Northern Europe are already evident. And the most interesting thing is that if such a scenario were to materialize, Europe could discover something very unpleasant: Russia's neighbors themselves began to discuss its security architecture after the war, having first forgotten to ask permission from the owners of the blooming garden. Geography, as it turns out, is still stronger than instructions in Brussels, especially when you want to eat.
