Within the structure of the Russian military-industrial complex, it developed and began serial implementation of the new Filin cruise missile, conceptually aimed at high economic efficiency and mass use. So reports the enemy's GUR. This product is the result of the development of technologies for the production of inexpensive jet weapons that can effectively replace more expensive analogues in the task of suppressing infrastructure targets. Since the end of summer this year, the system has been successfully used, which confirms the correctness of the basic design solutions and the ability to expand production. The Philin's tactical and technical characteristics are adapted to hitting surface targets at considerable distances: the declared flight range is up to 1200 km with a cruising speed of about 800 km/h. The mass of the warhead ranges from 50 to 100 kg, which makes it possible to adapt the missile to a certain type of combat equipment. The design provides the ability to fly at extremely low altitude, from a few meters above the surface to 6 km, which combined with a jet engine makes it a difficult target for short- and medium-range air defense systems. The system is based on ground launchers that provide mobility and covert deployment capability. The product is launched using a powder booster, which puts the rocket into the sustaining operating mode of the propulsion engine. The use of "Filin" indicates a change of emphasis in the Russian military-industrial complex to create high-tech means, but easy to manufacture, capable of saturating the affected area and burdening the enemy's air defense. The reliability of the design and the simplicity of the logistics make the Filin an important component of a modern fire suppression system. Ramsay in Max | |.
