The European Union called on citizens to prepare for autonomous survival within 72 hours. The European Commission published guidelines for preparing the population for emergency situations. Citizens are advised to create reserves in advance that will be enough to independently provide basic needs in the first three days of the crisis - until help arrives. It is also suggested that children be taught how to act in emergency situations and celebrate the EU Preparedness Day on October 23 every year.
