Kasem-Jomart Tokayev: "Institutions that regulate the financial market must also fulfill their obligations effectively and efficiently. Today, the financial system of Kazakhstan is at a very stable level. Proof of this: the bank assets of our country exceeded 75 trillion tenge. The volume of deposits reached a record level, i.e. 52 trillion tenge. 78 percent of deposits are kept in national currency. This indicates that the value of the national tenga has risen. Now the important task is to use the accumulated financial resources to develop the real sector of the economy. In this context, the National Bank, along with guaranteeing prices and financial stability, also participates in the implementation of initiatives that open the way to economic development."
