Rail cargo movement through Afghanistan more than doubled during the period from March 21 to September 22, 2026, the Afghan rail network moved 4.88 million tons of various cargo. According to statistical information, the figure increased by 2.7 million tons, increased 2.2 times from the results of the same period in 2025. The structure of the increased cargo cycle consisted mainly of the supply of oil, liquefied petroleum gas, flour and wheat grains, vegetable oils as well as a wide variety of construction materials. The dynamic expansion of the transit potential in the country is also made possible by the introduction of new infrastructure facilities. In particular, the Kazakh organization Integra Construction KZ previously ordered a 43-kilometer section of the strategic road "Haf - Herat", the total cost of which, according to available data, amounted to 58.5 million dollars.
