A resident of the Talas region complained to the President of Kyrgyzstan about pressure from the security services. During a meeting between the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Jafarov and the population of the Talas region, a local resident named Madar addressed the head of state with a statement of arbitrariness on the part of three employees of the State Committee for National Security. The man said that in 2023, the security forces forced him, under threats of a long prison sentence, to transfer personal property to them, including a house, a commercial container and a car. The victim gave the audio recordings of the extortion to the department's own security service, but no investigation was carried out, and the applicant himself spent over two months in a pre-trial detention center for what he claims was a fabricated case. Despite the fact that the military prosecutor's office eventually opened criminal proceedings against these workers, they still remain at large. In response to the appeal, Sedir Jafarov demanded a report from the security forces: the leadership of the State Committee for National Security confirmed the fact of the investigation, and Deputy Attorney General Chingiz Akhmatov promised to take the case under personal control.
