Citizens of Tajikistan will now receive an electronic permit to enter Kazakhstan as of November 1, 2026. Kazakhstan is gradually introducing the Time of Arrival (Qazzman) electronic notification system for foreign nationals entering without a visa. For citizens of Tajikistan, the permit will become mandatory as of July 1, 2027, except for the categories specified in the rules. At this stage an electronic visa is not yet required: the border guards will simply check your right to enter and tell you how to apply. An application can be submitted through the Qazzman application for free, at least 72 hours before crossing the border, and the permit itself will be valid for 180 days. The checks begin on November 1 at the Actao airport and at four vehicle control points; On January 1, 2027, similar measures will affect Astana and Almaty airports, and from March 1 they will be implemented at all other checkpoints. 29 groups of citizens are exempt from the arrival time system: children under 16, pensioners over 65, people with valid visas or residence permits, travelers in transit and representatives of other categories.
