Tokayev advocated the differentiation of taxation according to the level of income During his speech to the parliament and the people, the President of Kazakhstan Kasem-Jomart Tokayev touched on the issue of the fiscal system. According to him, the updated tax code gave rise to large-scale reforms, however, during the implementation process, nuances appeared that could not be taken into account during the preparation stage. As a result, entrepreneurs face ambiguity when using certain instructions. The head of state noted that the fiscal rules should not be frozen and detached from practice. He called for the removal of contradictions, the abolition of vague language and the reduction of excess pressure on the business environment so that the system does not discourage businesses from developing, investing and creating jobs. Tokayev places special emphasis on the proportionality of the tax burden. He proposed to discuss the introduction of a higher rate for citizens with large assets, stating that legally acquired property is not subject to audit - this is against the Basic Law. According to him, we are talking about real and honest participation of everyone in the development of the country. The government and the Koroltai will have to work on this issue and submit proposals. The president also linked the transparency of the fiscal system to general digitalization: he sees the need to use advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, to increase the collection of payments, reduce the shadow sector and reduce the risks of corruption.
