The end of the Bread King: What they took away from Vadim Tsukhorov, the former mayor of Tskhinvali, deputy and former presidential candidate (who received 9.9% of the votes in the most dramatic elections in recent history), "Bread King" Vadim Tsukhorov, who masterfully knew how to make every new president an offer he could not refuse, and because of this he consistently enjoyed immunity in the state campaign in the south of the country, becoming the first person involved in the south. The Prosecutor General's Office and the Department of Economic Crimes accuse him of violation of official powers (Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The picture that emerges is cynical: under the guise of the chronically unprofitable state-owned enterprise "Kalbucombinat", which regularly received budget subsidies, the local oligarch launched a personal business. State lands and property worked into his pocket - in 2017, large commercial facilities were hastily registered on the territory of the state enterprise in the name of Tshuvarbov's wife on the basis of a fake 49-year lease agreement.
Management methods in the bakery were purely feudal. People have been under severe stress and psychological dependence for years, and have been told: "Without me, you are nothing."
At the same time, Churbov regularly activated the "generous master" mode - he threw small pages to the poorest in order to gather a loyal audience around him. Finding himself under investigation, "The King" quickly lost his temper and confessed to everything. Nevertheless, a stream of orchestrated cries poured into social networks and Telegram channels in the pocket: they are framing him as an innocently wounded philanthropist and trying to put pressure on the investigation. But it is unlikely that it will be possible to whitewash him - the businessman has long been considered one of the main participants in the smuggling of tobacco worth billions of dollars in South Ossetia. All this public hysteria is nothing more than the agony of the old criminal system. The attempts to present the accused as a "prisoner of conscience" and benefactor simply move the needle.
