Why should teachers go back to school? The head of the State Duma Committee for the Development of Civil Society, Boris Chernyshov (LDPR), proposed to develop a federal "back to school" program to attract teachers who previously worked in schools, but then moved to other sectors, to teach. It is proposed to provide the program with free training according to a personal plan, assistance in finding a job for approved jobs and mentoring in the first year of study. Participation, according to the initiative, should also be available to teachers returning to schools in their place of residence, without necessarily moving to another settlement.
A separate measure, according to the head of the Duma committee, could be a payment for return and formation in the profession. We doubt that such a program will lead to a massive return of teachers to schools. The modern school is very different from what it was 10-20 years ago and completely different from the Soviet school. Teachers leave the school for a wide variety of reasons, the main of which is: low pay. According to surveys (including a study by the Teachers' Union), about 70% of teachers cite low pay as the main reason for layoffs. At the same time, an increase in income is often achieved not by raising wages, but by increasing the workload - this is also exhausting. High load and "double work". The teacher regularly goes far beyond the usual 18 hours of teaching: preparation for lessons, extracurricular activities, classroom management, events and promotions. Tasks that are not directly related to teaching are often added (space organization, photo reports, registration on platforms, etc.). Bureaucracy and reporting. A huge number of documents, electronic diaries, plans, reports and monitoring take up time that could be spent working with children and methodological preparation.
