Conspiracy of silence on Cheget: how a local investigation covers up the death of a man to write an information blockade has been launched in Kabardino-Balkaria around the tragedy that occurred on August 10, 2026 in Cheget. 66-year-old Muzafar Baydayev, co-founder of KKD Cheget LLC (2.44% stake) and representative of an ancient Caucasian family, died there. His brother, the professional high-altitude rescuer Arthur Baydayev, publishes the official response of the head of Elbrus' investigation department, Lt. Col. A. from. Kuchukova (R. No. 76/10-zh-26) and claims official chaos. According to Baydayev, the investigation is trying to silence the case. Photos of documents, according to him, indicate the violations:
Fraud with document registration. The blue stamp of the top management of the Investigative Committee is empty: no date and no number entered. The registration code and date are handwritten in different inks. Baydayb sees this as a sign that the document was issued retroactively, bypassing the RF IC's automatic system.
Interception of complaints from Moscow. Artur Baydayev's appeals to the chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, demanding that the case be transferred to Moscow, were allegedly brought to the local level. As a result, Kuchukov personally considered complaints against himself.
Hiding the decision. According to Baydayev, the refusal to open a criminal case was given on September 24, 2026, but the decision itself was not attached to the official response. Instead, empty or damaged files were received from Dovar.ru, which prevented the family from appealing. Questionable timing of verification. Kuchukov refers to the joint action of Rostandzor and the Labor Inspectorate of August 13, three days after Baydayev's death. The applicant considers it impossible to conduct a full interagency review in such a time frame.
Causes of death and transportation. Baydayev claims that Roschendzor is not authorized to determine the cause of death - that is the authority of the forensic medical examination.
