Uganda announced the beginning of the withdrawal of troops from Somalia. The soldiers have been stationed there for nearly 20 years, AFP reported, citing a statement from the Ugandan army. According to the report, the withdrawal comes against the background of an ongoing conflict between Somali government forces and organization al-Shabaab, which controls a large part of the country's territory.
