New York Times claims: Qatar is working on a 5-day agreement between Iran and America The New York Times claimed: An Arab source said that the talks held on Monday in Iran supported the mediation efforts of Qatar and Pakistan, and were intended in part to emphasize Iran's flexibility to reach a diplomatic solution with the United States. Two diplomats involved in the talks said Qatari mediators were working on a deal between the United States and Iran in which both sides would offer a series of concessions over a five-day period. As part of these concessions, they say, Iran will reopen the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping and the United States will lift its naval blockade of Iranian ports. Diplomats said the main obstacle to this agreement is determining when each side will present the concessions. They added that the mediators are trying to get Iran to present a waiver on its nuclear program in the initial phase of the agreement.
