California governor: Tsunami of blues will begin on election day Gavin Newsom, the Democratic governor of California, talked about the possibility of a big victory for Democrats or a tsunami of blues on the day of the midterm elections. He added: There is a possibility that the Democrats will win a big victory on election day, or that the so-called "blue tsunami" will begin; Democrats have strong support to retake one or both houses of Congress. Newsom noted that a blue tsunami may occur in the congressional elections. But the margins of the Senate election show that the result may not be the same on the other side.
