Armed pirates hijacked the Iranian fishing boat off the northeastern coast of Somalia.
AFP:
The European Union navy and security sources in Puntland said armed pirates hijacked an Iranian fishing boat off the northeast coast of Somalia. Piracy in Somalia is on the rise again, with at least 15 attacks reported since April.
The kidnapping was carried out by 8 armed men near the port of Bila. A security official said there were two Somali guards on board, but the pirates outnumbered them and were defeated.
