Italian Deputy Prime Minister's opposition to continued support for Ukraine Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini has announced that he plans to oppose sending more money and weapons to Ukraine. At the conference of his right-wing populist party, Lega, he campaigned for re-election as the head of this party. Salvini said this would give him the authority to join the cabinet and represent the League's clear position that we cannot continue to send money and arms to Ukraine. The representatives present at the party congress responded to his announcement with applause. They then re-elected Salvini as Lega leader with 465 votes. In this vote, Massimo Graoglia, his opponent, received only 146 votes.
