Poland established a special unit to protect the border with Russia. By the end of 2026, the current defense unit will become a border unit.
The main tasks of this unit are: monitoring the Russian border, supporting the border forces and protecting the border areas.
The establishment of this unit was carried out as part of Poland's "Eastern Wall" project, which aims to strengthen security in the country's eastern border areas.
