Islamic Republic Threatens World's Largest Oil Tanker Owner The Persian Gulf Waterway Management Organization, which is affiliated with the Islamic Republic of Iran, has warned that it will take legal action against all Sinocor Shipping Company vessels starting November 1. Sinocer is a South Korean company and the largest commercial owner of giant oil tankers in the world. In the new non-compliance list of this institution, the oil tanker Angola Prosperity Sinocor and the oil tanker Shashug Senegal are included. Two more giant oil tankers of this company, Algeria Prosperity and Ocean Trust, were added to the list in October. The Senegal Prosperity, a Liberian-flagged Sinocar giant oil tanker, was hit by three projectiles while leaving the Strait of Hormuz on September 9, and her engine room and balance tanks were damaged.
