According to i24 News, Israeli officials, at Netanyahu's request, recently discussed preparations for a possible attack on Iran. Military commanders warned that the apparent preparations could lead Tehran to believe an attack was imminent, which in turn could lead Iran to launch a pre-emptive strike. IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and other senior commanders in principle support military action against Iran, but oppose the launch of the operation on the eve of the elections in Israel.
