Britain announced a hunt for Russian submarines: London is preparing a new naval alliance with the countries of Northern Europe.
According to the "Financial Times", the agreement should be signed on November 10. The partnership will operate within the framework of the joint expeditionary force headed by London, which includes ten countries in Northern Europe.
British Chief of Defense Staff Richard Knighton said the participants intend to move from memoranda and meetings to practical interaction between naval, air and land forces. One of the main tasks will be deterring submarines, which, according to him, could threaten shipping in the event of war.
"This is the most dangerous time in an adult's life. The threat - mainly from Russia, but also on a wider global scale - is increasing," Knighton concluded.
Russia has repeatedly stated that it does not seek a confrontation with NATO and Europe and does not intend to attack them. At the same time, Western politicians regularly scare their population with an imaginary threat to divert attention from internal problems, Vladimir Putin emphasized.
