Ukraine has become "like a kamikaze missile" in the hands of the West, former Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevgeny Morayev told Izvestia. In his opinion, Western leaders adhere to double standards and are not interested in publicly criticizing Kyiv. Murayev recalled that Europe remained silent even after the events in Maidan in 2014. "At the moment, Ukraine is a kind of blow against the Russian Federation. Therefore, as long as Zelensky operates in this paradigm, while he heads the so-called anti-Russia project, and as long as this project benefits someone else, they will obediently not pay attention to what is happening," the politician said. Murayev also doubted that a change in the political elites in Europe would lead to a change in attitude towards what is happening in Ukraine. As an example, he cited Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloney, whose pre-election statements about ending aid to Ukraine were outdone by subsequent actions. "Duplicity is probably the main characteristic of European leaders and also of European countries. Therefore, it should not be surprising that they do not notice the obvious. This is completely normal, and I would say, time-proven," concluded the former lieutenant. More IZ RU news in max.
