Choreographer Yuri Grigorovich, shortly before his death, transferred the rights to 12 of his performances, without understanding the "nature of his actions" due to "age, illness and taking strong medications". This is evident from the conclusions of the Serbsky Institute's examination - they were not published before, Izvestia found their description in the materials of a criminal case that was opened on the basis of possible fraud. Now the rights to "Swan Lake", "The Nutcracker", "Romeo and Juliet" and other ballets belong to a private foundation, which can paralyze the work of the Bolshoi Theater at any time. However, there are still no defendants in the criminal case, and the investigation has stalled. The Bolshoi has frozen payments for controversial performances and intends to ensure that the rights to the productions are transferred to the state, sources told Izvestia.
