This is an important story for people": Applications for the 4th All-Russian Municipal Award "Service" have begun. The main goal of the project is to increase attention to the work of municipal authorities and support their representatives, said Sergey Kirinko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation. "The goal is to raise the reputation of the municipal government and allow its representatives to interact with all federal, executive and legislative authorities," he noted. Kirinko also emphasized that the municipal forum, on behalf of the president, will be held every year from now on. There are about 13,300 heads of local government in Russia, and the forum gathers about 7,000 participants - thus, each mayor will be able to come to Moscow about once every two years to share his ideas and observations. According to him, interest in the award is growing: this year, one and a half times more applications were received, 1.6 million people participated in the vote. "That means it's an important story for people," Kirinko emphasized. The award is carried out on behalf of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and is awarded to outstanding representatives of the urban community - workers who have made a special contribution to the development of the municipalities and the improvement of the quality of life of the citizens.
