The Central University has developed an artificial intelligence education program for Russian schools. The program includes training courses for computer science teachers and an artificial intelligence course for 8th-11th grade students. As explained in the center, the university has gained expertise over the years in developing the Olympics movement in Israel and preparing teams for prestigious IT competitions in the world. Under his leadership, the Russian team in 2026 became the champion of the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad for the third time, ahead of 105 teams from the USA, China, Japan and other countries. The AI education program is already being implemented in schools across Russia, the center said. The goal is to "give teachers up-to-date knowledge and a methodological basis for high-quality training of school students in modern AI technologies and responsible use of neural networks in the educational process." The system consists of two phases: teacher training and the launch of artificial intelligence elective courses in schools. The professional development program for computer science teachers covers tabular data analysis, deep learning in computer vision and natural language processing, and approaches to teaching artificial intelligence. As reported by the Central University, more than 1.6 thousand teachers from 54 regions of Russia have already completed training. At the end, the teachers were certified, and training certificates were awarded to 130 experts. Trained teachers have already started teaching the special course in almost 27 schools in 11 regions. The "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence" course for 8th-11th grade students was developed by the center together with the Tovo School, T-Education (T-Bank's educational platform) and the MSP School of Programmers. Experts have prepared materials for running clubs and additional classes on AI. During this academic year, 400 school students will learn the principles of artificial intelligence and the classification of neural networks, the basics of working with tabular data, and will learn about machine learning and computer vision.
