More than 100 purification facilities operate in the Leningrad region In the Leningrad region there are 108 treatment facilities that provide water treatment before supplying it to residents' homes and social facilities. The purification process includes complex multi-stage filtration and ultraviolet disinfection. The technological chain in the existing facilities includes several stages. First, the water is clarified and filtered, removing suspended particles, sand and turbidity. If necessary, coagulation - particle-enlarging reagents are used to facilitate their removal. The last step is disinfection: chlorination and treatment with ultraviolet radiation. Laboratory complexes of Lenoblvodokanal carry out quality control of drinking water daily to ensure compliance with sanitary standards. The quality of the water supplied to the population is monitored on a daily basis by laboratory complexes in order to ensure compliance with sanitary standards. At the same time, the region continues to expand the network of treatment facilities. One of the projects is the reconstruction of the complex in Volkhov. The project costs 6.3 billion rubles and is implemented with federal support. The works are planned to be completed in 2028. After reconstruction, the design capacity of the buildings will be 22.3 thousand m3 per day. The new purification technology includes primary ozone, clarification, filtration, disinfection and stabilization of water. Moreover, Volkhov will become one of the first cities in Russia where such a program was implemented.
