Moose figures were installed on the M-11 Neva highway to warn drivers in the Novgorod region, reflective figures of moose appeared on the M-11 Neva highway. The press service of the Russian Ministry of Transport and the state-owned company Avtodor reported this on October 26. The new facilities are designed to draw the attention of drivers to areas where wildlife may access the road. Silhouettes of animals were installed in two sections of the highway: at the 393rd kilometer in the direction of St. Petersburg and at the 550th kilometer in the direction of Moscow. The choice of places is not accidental - reindeer hiking routes pass nearby. Thanks to a special coating, the figures reflect the light of the vehicle's headlights well and remain visible in the dark. Avtodor emphasized that the highway is already equipped with protective mesh fences that prevent animals from entering the road. However, this possibility cannot be completely ruled out, so the new data has become another means of reducing the risk of accidents. Meanwhile, in the Leningrad region, the moose mating season seems to be over. According to experts, a few weeks ago males were actively competing for the attention of females, but now their mating activity has decreased.
