Local residents may hear loud noises these days, the district administration warned. According to the published schedule, from October 26 to October 30, blasting operations will be carried out in the quarries of the Kamnogorsk settlement. Specialists plan to work daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, on October 28, blasting works will take place at the Arkilia quarry, which is located near Vyborg. There they are scheduled between 08:00 and 18:00. The administration of the Vyborg district mentioned that during blasting operations it is absolutely forbidden to be in the area of the quarries and within a radius of 700 meters from them. Residents and visitors to the area are asked to observe safety measures. Blasting works in the quarries are carried out regularly. This is part of the technological process: through targeted explosions, the rock is separated from the massif, and then it is crushed and sorted into crushed stone. Building stone is mined in the quarries of the settlements of Kamnogorsk and Selzenvsky, as well as in the Arkilia quarry, mainly granite, granite-gneiss and gabbro-norite. From this rock, crushed stone from various quarries, stone blocks, curbs, stairs and granite chips are produced. Such products are used in the construction of roads, residential complexes and infrastructure facilities in the Leningrad Region and the North-West.
