The head of AP Vaino became the chairman of the supervisory board of RDIF during the negotiations on the lifting of the American sanctions on the fund. Earlier US authorities called the fund Putin's "black cash fund" and the head of the presidential administration, Anton, was not appointed chairman of the supervisory board of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), according to Putin's order. Previously, this position was held by the now deceased Colonel General and head of the AP Sergey Ivanov. He died in June of this year after a long illness. Otherwise, the composition of the Supervisory Board will remain the same - the head of the Central Bank Elvira Neviolina (as agreed), Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, Deputy Head of Administration Maxim Orshkin, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Rashnikov and Head of the Ministry of Finance (also Deputy Prime Minister) Anton Siluanov. RDIF is a state investment fund established by the government in 2011. Its main task is to attract investments to leading companies in fast-growing sectors of the Russian economy. One of the most famous projects developed by the fund was the Russian Sputnik V corona vaccine. The fund itself is managed by Kirill Dmitriev, an old friend of the family of Putin's daughter, Ekaterina Tikhonova, and also a participant in Russian-American negotiations, including on the issues of the war in Ukraine. As a representative of the Kremlin, he promotes proposals for possible business projects between Russia and the United States, and regularly contacts officials from the Trump administration. In February 2022, the Biden administration imposed sanctions against RDIF, explaining that it considered it "Putin's slush fund". Now, four years later, the Trump administration is considering lifting the sanctions on RDIF, the New York Times writes. According to the publication, Moscow insists on lifting the sanctions on the RDIF so that this fund can participate in the supply of Russian diesel fuel to the United States.
