Queues appeared at gas stations in the Nizhny Novgorod region due to an attack on an oil refinery. They persisted even after authorities said the situation was under control. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod lined up in front of gas stations early in the morning after a drone attack, local Telegram channels write. The regional government then announced that it was regularly supplying fuel to gas stations, but the queues still continued. On the night of November 1, more than a hundred Ukrainian drones attacked the Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result of the attack, one woman was injured. "Significant damage" was also caused to an industrial facility, Governor Galev Nikitin said. He did not specify which factory was attacked. Ukrainian monitoring channels determined that we are talking about the Lukoil refinery in Kastovo. Several fires were found in the project area. After the attack, notices appeared on public pages in the city about large queues in front of the gas station. Judging by the photos, drivers started arriving at gas stations before dawn, and queues also appeared at Lukoil stations. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod poured gasoline into cans and other containers. Shortly after the publication of such posts, the management of the Nizhny Novgorod region appealed to the local residents and asked them to "refuel as needed" and "not to create unnecessary excitement", as this would cause "deterioration of the situation". "Exhaustive measures are being taken to ensure the availability of fuel at the gas stations," the regional authorities added. Despite the regional government's statement, drivers continued to stock up on gasoline, as follows from local Telegram channels. Also, volunteers who previously kept queues in front of the gas stations started working at the gas stations again. During the summer, drivers who wanted to fill up with gas fought and cursed each other, and also sold their place in line.
