Hackers broke into the Rostat website. They stated that they had received data on Russia's losses in the war. Hacker groups Silent Crow from Ukraine and CyberPartisans from Belarus reported that the Rostat website was hacked. According to the hackers, they gained access to "a significant part of the IT infrastructure" and managed to download 23 TB of data. In particular, Silent Crow stated that they obtained "information related to military losses of the Russian Federation during the war against Ukraine, including data displayed in Rostat systems." The groups claim to have also obtained internal documents, statistical and personal data. "Cyber-partisans" stated that they destroyed key systems for storing and processing data on the Rostat website. The hackers also wrote the inscription "No one can escape responsibility" in the Belarusian language on the pages of the site and placed the logos of their groups. The department website is currently unavailable. Rostat's press service confirmed that its information resources have been subject to cyber attacks since October 29. The representatives of the statistical service promised to restore access to the site in the near future. The department denies leaking data. "The attacks were carefully prepared and carried out in different directions - across the entire range of information technologies used, with the involvement of a significant number of experts in various fields and with a wide geography of sources," Rosstat added.
