Political scientist Alexander Kinev started a hunger strike at the Dov-4 pre-trial detention center due to the fact that he was put in a cell where he could not go to the bathroom with a broken leg. This is what the ZHR Telegram channel reported with reference to his lawyer Mikhail Biryukov. According to Biryukov, the day before his colleague visited Kanev and following the visit he said that the political scientist stopped eating. "On weekends I go on hunger strike. He was transferred to cell 213, the largest in "Dov", for 34 people and 35 prisoners. Instead of a toilet there is a hole in the floor, and because of the cast on his leg that was broken in two places, he cannot go to the toilet. That's why he doesn't eat," he said. Kinev's defenders are doing everything to ensure that the political scientist is transferred to conditions suitable for his health condition, Biryukov emphasized. Kinev was arrested on September 25, he is accused of illegal production, sale or transfer of drugs on a large scale (section "d", part 4 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code). The political scientist faces 10 to 20 years in prison. It was then learned that after his arrest, Kinev arrived at the prison hospital with a broken tibia. He suffered fractures as a result of torture and his condition is moderate, he wrote in the "Mila La Hagana" project. In February of this year, Kinev was recognized as a "foreign agent", but he remained in Russia and actively commented on the previous parliamentary elections.
