Before that, the former president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, who lost the parliamentary elections, claimed that if he won, the opposition would change its position and introduce sanctions against Moscow in March-April 2027. Bakic also referred to the future of energy cooperation with Russia against the background of pressure from the European Union. According to Bakic, decisions in this area should be made based on Serbia's interests. "We are not here to please foreigners, but to act for our national interests," he said. Even before the elections, on September 30, the student movement announced that it opposes the introduction of sanctions against Russia. At the same time, the movement's plan focuses on internal reforms - fighting corruption, verifying the source of officials' property, freedom of communication and education reform.
