The Strait of Hormuz and the legitimate defense of Iran from the point of view of international law.
Mohsen Baharond, the former Iranian ambassador in London and a retired diplomat, wrote in a note:
According to the international regulations for naval warfare and the state of the battlefield, Iran's action to block the Strait of Hormuz in all the waters of this strait and outside it in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman cannot be considered a violation, and the ships trying to violate the blockade or restriction of movement announced by Iran must accept and calculate these reactions and risks.
