Navia Barry's support for the continued presence of UNIFIL forces in Lebanon.
🔹 Nabia Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, in a meeting with the European Union ambassador, saw the UN peacekeeping forces as the operational framework for the implementation of resolution 1701 and called this legal Arab resolution Lebanon's right to restore its lands in full.
According to the Security Council's decision, UNIFIL's mission was extended until December 31, 2026, after which a gradual withdrawal of the forces will take place within a year at the most; a process that will increase the responsibility of the Lebanese Army in securing the south of the country.
