Yonhap: South Korea is expanding its naval mission in the Gulf of Aden to waters near the Strait of Hormuz.
🔹 Yonhap reported that Seoul plans to expand the scope of operation of the "Cheonghae" naval unit to the southern waters of Oman and send a maritime patrol plane, an explosives disposal team and mine-clearing equipment. The implementation of this plan requires the approval of the parliament.
🔹 Officials in South Korea say that the mission will be non-combat and independent and will not include entering the Strait of Hormuz or monitoring Iran's territorial waters; The stated purpose is to protect shipping and prepare for possible participation in post-war operations.
