The Associated Press reported and announced the first final result of the election contests on November 3, Mark Warner, the candidate of the Democratic Party, won the election for the US Senate from the state of Virginia and was re-elected to the Senate.
According to early vote counts, Democrats and Trump's opponents are ahead of their Republican opponents in both the House and Senate.
In the US House of Representatives, Democrats outnumbered Republicans 86-60.
In the Senate, the Democrats lead with 42 seats compared to their Republican opponents with 34 seats. The Democrats are only 9 seats away from a majority in the Senate.
