Bekai: Iran does not receive a top-down approach/ America violates the principle of equal sovereignty in relations with Cuba and Venezuela.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said:
🔹 It is possible that for some countries in the region, this type of view and treatment has gradually become normal, but for Iranians such an opinion is not acceptable. We cannot accept that Iran is handled from a top-down position.
This view is rooted in our civilization, culture and religion and is based on the principles of international law. It can be said that the Iranians have high expectations due to their historical background, and this is the logic of the world of power. But I emphasize that Iran's position is based on the same principles and rules formulated in San Francisco in 1945 and 1946 as part of the United Nations Charter. 🔹 The principle of equality of sovereignty of countries and the principle of the right to self-determination are not principles that one or more countries invented; Instead, they are based on the international consensus created after the heavy experiences of the two world wars.
🔹 America violates all these principles in its relations with Cuba, Venezuela and other countries and does not adhere to the principle of equality of state sovereignty. The principle of the right to self-determination, which is one of the fundamental principles of international law, is easily abandoned in various cases. A clear example of this is the situation in occupied Palestine.
