Bekai: America and Israel are the founders of the discussion on changing the nuclear doctrine/ Iran will comply with its obligations as long as it is a member of the NPT.
🔹 The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to a question about the demand to change Iran's nuclear doctrine in the public sphere and its reflection in the negotiations, said:
🔹 I think that the opposite side is the one who observes the sayings and statements in the media, the elite and the general society. We do not need an artificial approach to what is happening at the level of our blogs. It is a real matter that our people raise a reasonable question in view of the events that have happened in the last two years and I emphasize again in the last 12 to 13 years, since the beginning of the negotiations that led to the nuclear agreement in 2015 and the developments that followed.
The question is that despite all Iran's efforts to show that its nuclear program is peaceful, the other side has always been looking for excuses. This is a real discussion. The other side assassinated the owner of the fatwa that prohibits the production and use of nuclear weapons.
🔹 I said earlier that the reason for the formation of this discussion, not only in our society, but also at the international level, is none other than America and Israel. Iran's nuclear program was and is completely peaceful and this issue has been proven many times.
Based on a big lie that started 20 years ago, the other side keeps repeating the claim of nuclear weapons or the risk of Iran getting a nuclear weapon, fueling this debate that seems like they have anesthetized themselves, and no matter how much we argue about the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program, they are not going to pay attention to it. Therefore this discussion is a real issue.
But as announced, at the decision-making level, we are still members of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), and as long as Iran is a member of this treaty, it considers itself bound and obliged to meet the obligations contained therein.
