The clear contradiction of the American claims on the Strait of Hormuz/Reality Field shows Iran's upper hand.

The contradiction of America's claims on the Strait of Hormuz lies in a basic fact; Washington has yet to gain full operational control of this waterway.
The large presence of the US Navy, the escort of ships and the costs of billions of dollars all indicate that Iran has retained the ability to create disruptions and impose costs. On the other hand, by maintaining asymmetric power, intelligent mine laying, information operations and announcing transition rules, Iran has shown that even under heavy military pressure it can maintain the initiative in one of the world's most sensitive regions.
