How did Iran's long-term game upset America's time calculations?
Eight months have passed since the start of the military conflict, Washington's insistence on imposing political deadlines on Tehran has failed.
According to Bloomberg, Iran's decision-making structure, unlike the White House's election schedule, relies on a long-term game, a war of attrition and a containment strategy; An approach aimed at preventing the US from declaring victory, dragging the crisis into the post-Trump era and depleting the Pentagon's military assets in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a report, Bloomberg News Base explored the deep conflict between the US government's political timeline and Iran's strategic outlook. In an ironic reference to the coincidence of the calendar, this media wrote that the day after the mid-term elections of the US Congress will coincide with the 47th anniversary of the occupation of the US Embassy in Tehran in 1979; historical events that not only led to the end of Jimmy Carter's term, but also marked almost half a century of conflict and mistrust between the two countries.
