Iran announced its willingness to participate in the formulation of the global convention to combat plastic pollution.
On the sidelines of the 17th session of the Conference of Members of the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), a meeting was held between Hamid Zaharbi, the Deputy for the Natural Environment and Biodiversity of the Environmental Protection Organization and the Director General of the International Specialized Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the head of the International Committee for Operational Negotiations of the Operational Committee for Plastic and Secret Inspection. Committee in the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
At this meeting, the commitment and constructive participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the negotiation process and the achievement of effective agreements to deal with plastic pollution was emphasized.
