turning Europe to the East; Mertes in search of new markets to overcome trade barriers.

German Chancellor Friedrich Mertes announced today (Tuesday) that the European Union seeks to deepen cooperation in the field of free access to markets, including with Southeast Asian countries and members of the Pacific trade agreement known as the "Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership" (CPTPP), in order to deal with global trade restrictions.

Reuters News Agency: Friedrich Marts said during his trip to Singapore that the world is changing and the European Union, with its 450 million consumers, has begun to work more on creating and developing partnerships to expand free trade based on free competition, credibility and a rules-based order.
